The 101st Meeting of the English Speaking Conference (ESC) of the Order of Friars Minor and the 159th of the OFM Ministers Provincials was held in Malta at Porziuncola Franciscan Centre, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq between the 14th and the 18th of October 2019.
All 12 Ministers Provincial from U.S.A., Canada, England, Ireland, Lithuania and Malta were present as were also Fr. Caoimhin O’Laide OFM, General Definitor and Fr. Pat McCloskey OFM, Secretary. During their stay here, the Ministers Provincial discussed amongst other things, the Plenary Council of the Order held in Nairobi last year and the Under Ten meeting in Taize’ held earlier this year.
On Wednesday afternoon they were taken out for two excursions. One to Mdina and Rabat and the other to Valletta. In the evening that same day they went out for dinner together at Qawra. All those visiting were very much favourably impressed both by our Porziuncola Franciscan Centre, with the service, the cleanliness, the meals and the overall organization. The next meeting will be held n April 2020 in Santa Barbara Province, California.
