On the 6th September at St Francis Church Hamrun was celebrated a Thanksgiving Day to God by Cultural and Sports persons. Artists, Actors, Musicians, the Santa Maria Accordion Band, Singers, Poets, Designers, Photographers, and Motoring Drivers of Vintage cars, and sportsmen, athletes attended. Many welcomed this initiative and to be organized annually. It was read the blessing and message of Pope Francis and that of Bishop Auxiliary Joe Galea Curmi.
The Mass and homely was celebrated by the Guardian Fr Joseph Magro. The idea of this day was originated by artist Philippe Agius, well known artist who paints sacred art. He wishes that next year it will be given more publicity and thanked everybody who were present and those who sent messages of encouragement. Those who attended, praised the Santa Maria Accordion Band with its accordionists, under Maestro Marthese Busuttil Cassar, for the music and hymns during Mass, the Singers, were highly appreciated.
