On Saturday 17 May Bishop George Bugeja, Apostolic Vicar of Tripoli in Libya, was awarded the
\u201cPremio San Ludovico\u201d during the Franciscan Meeting of the Mediterranean organized in
Palermo from 16 to 18 May by the Secular Franciscan Order in Sicily. Bishop George was given
this honour in view of his untiring work of support and fraternal charity towards immigrant
communities in Libya, and particularly for his efforts to bring peace and reconciliation through
dialogue in this troubled country. The Maltese Franciscan Province congratulates Bishop George
for this award, which is a witness of the effort of all Franciscan missionaries present in Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
