Br. Magdi Helmy Ibrahim Manosur, OFM, appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Apostolic Vicariate of Tripoli, Libya

On October 22nd, the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, has accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Apostolic Vicariate of Tripoli presented by His Excellency Monsignor George Bugeja, OFM, and has appointed Br. Magdi Helmy Ibrahim Mansour, OFM, a member of our Province of the Holy Family in Egypt, Apostolic Administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the Apostolic Vicariate of Tripoli.

Br. Magdi was born on January 23, 1972, in Beheira (Egypt). He vested in the Franciscan habit on September 7, 1997, made his Solemn Profession on August 31, 2022, and was ordained a priest on September 12, 2023.

During his ministry, he has held various positions within his Province, most recently those of Guardian and Vicar of the House in Tripoli, as well as Secretary of the Conference of Provincial Ministers and Custodes of the Conference of North Africa and the Middle East (CONAMO).

We express to our brother, Monsignor George Bugeja, our sincere gratitude for the service he has rendered to the Church in Libya, and to Br. Magdi Helmy Ibrahim Mansour we extend our best wishes for his new ministry in the service of the People of God.
