On 4th October the Franciscan Province celebrated the feast of St Francis on the occasion of the 800 years of his stigmata. The Mass at the Ta’ Ġieżu Church in Valletta was celebrated by the newly consecrated Bishop of Comayagua in Honduras, Monsignor Angelo Falzon. He was joined by the other three Franciscan Bishops, namely Bishop Joseph Bonello of Juticalpa in Honduras, Bishop George Bugeja, Apostolic Vicar of Tripoli in Libya, and Bishop Sandro Overend Rigillo, Apostolic Vicar of Benghazi and Derna in Libya, together with the Provincial Fr Anthony Chircop, the brothers of the Maltese OFM Province and Franciscan Sisters, Secular Franciscans and lay persons from all the churches where the Franciscans are present in Malta.
