On 14 August 2026, at the Church of St Anthony of Padua, during a private ceremony, Fra Darren Abela OFM and Fra Christopher Bilocca OFM renewed their Temporary Profession in the Order of Friars Minor for a further year.
Through this renewal, they once again promised God to live in obedience, without anything of their own, and in chastity, according to the life and Rule of the Friars Minor. In doing so, they continue to follow the Gospel more closely in the footsteps of Jesus Christ, inspired by the example of the Immaculate Virgin Mary and under the protection of our Seraphic Father St Francis.
This renewal marks another important step in their journey of formation, through which they continue to entrust their lives to God and to the fraternity. With the help of the Holy Spirit, may they continue to grow in love and in generous service to God, the Church, and all people.
We pray for Fra Darren and Fra Christopher, that the Lord may continue to strengthen and guide them, enabling them to live their Franciscan vocation with faithfulness and joy.
We also pray to the Lord of the harvest that He may continue to call new young people who, following the example of St Francis, will have the courage to say “Yes” to Him and generously dedicate their lives to the service of God and His people.
