Ta’ Ġieżu Crucifix in Għajnsielem

The devotional cross held in the church of Ta’ Ġieżu, Valletta, has made it’s way to our church of St Anthony in Għajnsielem were the faithful can visit and pray in front of it. At 7:30am on 7th March the bishop of Gozo, Mons. Anton Teuma, presided the Eucharist in the presence of the Gozitan clergy. Various pilgrimages have been held during the day from the sick and elderly homes. At 6:00pm a Mass was celebrated with special focus towards healing from physical, spiritual, emotional and psychological wounds. At 8:30pm and 9:30pm liturgical services were held for adolescents and youth.

It has been a day of grace for us to minister the people who flocked to our church in search of peace and reconciliation. It has been a day of grace for many who have come with a disposition to enter into the mystery of the suffering of Our Lord Jesus, entrusting themselves to the power of His Resurrection.

The church of St Anthony in Għajnsielem will remain open all night for the devotees. It will close on Saturday 8th March at midnight.
