On the 11th and 12th of September 2026, around 40 young people from our Franciscan Youth GiFra Ħamrun came together for two vibrant days under the theme “To Believe, To Hope, To Love.”
The festival was a joyful celebration of faith, fraternity, creativity and friendship, giving the young participants the opportunity to spend time together, strengthen their bonds and discover more about the gifts and talents that God has placed within each one of them.
One of the highlights of the festival was a lively talent show, where the youths shared their abilities through plays, singing, dancing, music, band performances and other creative presentations. The atmosphere was full of energy, encouragement and joy, as each young person was given the space to express themselves and appreciate the talents of others.
More than simply showcasing talent, the festival aimed to help the young people recognise, develop and value their own gifts. In the Christian spirit, our talents are gifts from God, entrusted to us not only for ourselves, but also to be shared generously in the service of others.
Inspired by the example of St Francis of Assisi, GiFra seeks to accompany young people in discovering the beauty of living the Gospel with joy, simplicity, fraternity and service. Gatherings such as this help them to grow in confidence, deepen their friendships and recognise how their talents can become a way of bringing hope and goodness to others.
The theme “To Believe, To Hope, To Love” beautifully expressed the spirit of these two days: to believe in God and in the gifts He gives us, to look towards the future with hope, and to learn to love through fraternity, generosity and service.
It was a joyful and meaningful Franciscan experience, reminding us of the energy, creativity and generosity that young people can bring to the Church when they are given the space to grow, discover their gifts and journey together in faith.
