On the 22nd July, third day of our Provincial Chapter, we started our gathering at 4:00pm with a prayer of St Francis written in the Letter to the entire Order: “Almighty, eternal, just and merciful God, … ” (EpOrd, 50). It was followed by roll call and the reading of the minutes. The latter were approved by a show of hands.
The Secretary announced that he has informed the ecclesiastical dignitaries of the Maltese Episcopal Conference with the election results: the Apostolic Nuncio Alessandro D’Errico, the Archbishop of Malta Charles J. Scicluna, and Bishops Mario Grech and Anthony Theuma for Gozo. He also informed the Franciscan Bishops Joe Bonello, Robert Camilleri and George Bugeja, together with Sandro Overend, Apostolic Administrator. He also informed the three dispensed friars: Victor Camilleri, Charles Grech and Edward Zammit. All this was done by email.
Replies have been received from Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna, bishop Mario Grech, Apostolic Administrator of Gozo, Br Charles Grech and Br Victor Camilleri.
The Moderator read out the workshop themes and questions. The assembly was divided into three groups wherein the subject matter was discussed.
We assembled together in the main hall at 6:30pm and each group reported what they had discussed.
We concluded our day at 7:25pm with the prayer of Vespers and the hymn Regina Cæli.
